This takes time. It's not unusual to apply in the fall and not set foot on a jobsite until the following June. It'll be tempting to reach out for an update, but most of the time there isn't one to give — you're in the queue, working your way through. Sign in to your application to see where it stands.

You've applied
Your account is open, the fee is paid and everything the application asked you to upload is in. We're waiting for your school records to arrive by mail. You have 30 days from opening the account to get everything in. If your school needs longer, reach out to us and we'll make the arrangements.
How you'll know: sign in to your application and check its status. It's on you to make sure every required document is in.
Your application is complete
Everything's in. You get an email and a text message with a link to book your aptitude test. The test is taken on a computer at the training center. Book the first date you can make.
If you need an accommodation for the test, say so when you book. Asking won't count against you. How to ask.
The aptitude test
Reading and math, nothing electrical. About three hours, in two parts. The test is scored from 1 to 9, and you must score a 4 or higher to be scheduled for an interview.
Score 3 or below and you can take the test again after 90 days. Many people do better the second time.

What you'll get from us: your result, by email. If you passed, the email includes a link to book your interview.
The interview
If you scored a 4 or higher on the aptitude test, we schedule you for an interview. You get an email and a text message with a link to book it. The interview is with a small panel of electricians and contractors. Arrive 10 to 15 minutes early, dress as you would for any job interview, and bring questions.
On the list
Your interview score puts you on our ranked list. You stay on it for one year from your interview date. When a contractor needs a new apprentice, we offer the place from the top of the list.
That's why the wait varies: it depends on how many contractors need apprentices and where you sit on the list. Some people get a call within weeks, some wait most of the year. You don't need to call us to check — if there's an offer, we call you.
Keep track of your own date. We won't contact you when your year is up.
The offer
We call you with the opportunity to go to work for one of our local contractors. You complete a drug test, and we work with you on your start date. You're paid from your first day on the job. Classes typically start in the fall. You need a laptop for class — you bring it and use it every class night.
If a year passes without an offer
Your year on the list starts on your interview date and runs for one year. If you aren't selected within that year and you still want to become an electrician, you apply to the program again. Applications are accepted from September 1 to March 31.
We keep the transcript your school sent, so you won't need to have it sent a second time. You take the aptitude test and the interview again. Your earlier score doesn't carry over.
